SEO for cleaning companies: get shortlisted for the contracts that last

A cleaning company is found on Google by a facilities manager, a property manager or a business owner who wants a quote, not by a passer-by. Every enquiry can become a contract that runs for years. Across 200 listings surveyed in Bordeaux and Lyon, the median listing has only 13 reviews: trust is still to be built, and trust is what gets contracts signed.

The mistakes that cost cleaning companies customers

No quote form on the home page

50% of the sites analysed have no enquiry form on the home page, a problem that comes up about as often as the average of all trades. A B2B buyer who cannot find where to ask for a quote within ten seconds moves on to the next provider.

A title that states neither the service nor the area

38% of the sites have no usable page title and 38% have no main heading that says what they clean and where. Cleaning companies fail about as often as the average on the page title.

No answers to the buyer’s questions

78% of the sites have no FAQ on the home page. Visit frequency, out-of-hours work, products used, insurance, cover when a cleaner is absent: these are the questions asked before every contract, and the ones AI assistants look to pick up.

Priority actions

  1. Write one page per type of client

Offices, residential blocks, shops, post-construction, windows: each with the tasks included, the possible frequencies and the area covered.
  2. Add a qualifying quote form

Floor area, type of premises, frequency, preferred hours, phone: five fields, at the top of the home page and of each service page.
  3. Ask every satisfied client for a review

After the first month of the contract, from the facilities or property manager, with the direct link to the Google Business Profile.
  4. Publish the answers to buying questions

An FAQ section on the home page: hours, products, insurance, cover, commitment.
  5. Complete the Google Business Profile

Exact primary category, real secondary categories, service area, photos of the team and of jobs (no identifiable client without consent).

Frequently asked questions

Does a B2B cleaning company need Google Maps?

Yes. Even a property manager or an office manager often starts with a local search. The Google Business Profile is the first impression: reviews, team photos and the service area reassure before the first call.

Should prices be shown?

Prices depend on floor area and frequency, but a real range per type of service, or an honest worked example, helps the buyer picture the cost and filters the enquiries.

Are lead-matching platforms better than a website?

They bring enquiries shared with other providers. A well-worked website and Google Business Profile bring direct enquiries, with no competition forced on you.

Method

Google Maps results (up to 100 listings) for the trade’s search query, centred on the city, collected via OpenSEO on 18/10/2026. Free website analysis (lib/audit.js): home page, robots.txt, sitemap.xml, llms.txt. No paid tools. Listings without a website, platform pages (Doctolib, Planity, Facebook, Instagram, Google Sites…) and network pages appearing 3 times or more: counted in the listings, not in the sites analysed. The score out of 100 is the tool’s own, which also counts server response time (4 points out of 100). Server response times are not published: they were measured from outside France and do not reflect what a visitor in France sees. No business name or website address is published: only aggregated statistics.

Search volumes: Average monthly search volumes on Google, France, French language, Google Ads data via OpenSEO (DataForSEO). CPC = estimated average cost of an ad click, in euros.

The data covers businesses in France (websites and Google Maps listings in French cities), and searches and volumes are from Google France.
